Humane Society of Greater Rochester

The health and well-being of the animals in our care, our staff, and the community we serve continue to be our top priorities. In this spirit and in response to the most recent recommendations from our government leaders about slowing the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and minimizing the risks to the most vulnerable among us, Lollypop Farm will be limiting all non-urgent services until further notice.

  • The shelter will be closed to visitors starting Wednesday, March 18th, and all satellite adoption centers remain closed. (Our outdoor Farm Walk and Nature Trail remain open to the public.) UPDATE: Farm Walk closed as of April 2, 2020.
  • Appointments for spay/neuter services are suspended.
  • Dog training classes are suspended until further notice.

ADOPTIONS

We will continue adoptions by appointment only. Many pets in our care still need homes, and we are committed to ensuring they have that opportunity. All available animals are viewable online at www.lollypop.org/adopt. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please contact our Adoption Counselors by email or at (585) 223-1330 x 262 to start the process.

ANIMAL INTAKE / END-OF-LIFE SERVICES

If you need to surrender your pet, please visit www.lollypop.org/admissions. We are limiting animal intake to help the neediest pets first and will work with you to evaluate alternative resources.

Likewise, if you are making an end-of-life decision for your pet, we are here for you. Please visit www.lollypop.org/services/end-of-life-services/ to review your options and connect with us by phone or email.

OTHER SERVICES

The following services continue to be available to our community online or by phone:

Visit our website for updates and information on programs and services.

Please be assured that we will not, under any circumstance, leave an animal in harm’s way. As Lollypop Farm continues to meet the critical needs of the animals in our community, your continued support is essential to saving lives. This global pandemic will have an impact on all of us, but we can only provide this essential care to those most vulnerable, regardless of the environment around us, with your support. We are so grateful to do the work we do alongside people like you.

From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of all the animals, thank you.
