Adopt From Foster FAQs
What does it mean when a pet has the "Adopt From Foster" banner on their profile?
It means that the pet is lucky enough to spend their time in a foster home until they find a family to call their very own! They can be adopted right from their foster home versus having to be here at the shelter.
Where is this pet actually located?
They are in a loving foster home! All pets who have the "Adopt From Foster" banner will need an appointment in order to meet them. Sometimes, pets are met right in their foster home and other times, they are brought back to the shelter for a meet and greet - each situation may be a little different, but you and that pet's point person will work out those details!
How do I meet them/what is the adoption process?
The first step is to fill out the form that will pop up once you click the "Ask About Meeting Me button". From there, one of our staff members will reach out to you with more information about the pet and how to meet them.
Are you interested in helping a pet stay out of the shelter while they wait for an adopter?
We love to hear that! Become a foster volunteer at lollypop.org/foster. You will receive emails letting you know who is eligible for our "Adopt From Foster" program!
Clint
Lollypop Farm
Meet Clint, the dog with the permanent wink! This happy four-year-old is currently chilling with his foster family after the stress of shelter living started getting to him. Now he's got his happy face back and he's ready to find a home of his own. Bonus: His adoption fee has been sponsored, so his new family will take him home for free. If you'd like to meet sweet Clint, contact his in-shelter contact Alivia at amartin@lollypop.org. Clint would like to live in an adult-only home - kids 12+ are fine - where he doesn't have to share the spotlight with any other pets. In return for all your love, he promises to give you all of his - and he has lots of love to give. He's very accommodating, up for whatever you want to do: a walk or a cuddle, not to mention a play session, indoors or out. Speaking of playing, Clint loves everything from Nylabones to paper towel tubes. He's a big fan of tearing up stuffies, so much so that you may need to trade something yummy for the remains. Clint's very favorite thing gets its own paragraph: sunbathing. He could hang out in the sun forever, so if you have a fenced yard where he can sunbathe and you can choose sun or shade, he already loves you and you haven't even met yet. Clint has some of the cutest quirks we've ever seen. He literally bunny-hops when he gets excited. Do you like a dog who likes having his face smooshed? Clint wants you to know he's your guy. And when he's outside he gets the zoomies when it's time to "go." Speaking of "going," he's a great communicator. He tells his foster mom when he needs to go out, when he's hungry, and of course when he's looking for some snuggly love. He loves sticking to a schedule, so if you need to follow a schedule yourself because of work commitments or anything else, he'll easily get in synch with you. One thing to know about Clint is that he's really not a fan of other dogs, so when he's out walking or going somewhere like the vet, he wears a muzzle as a sign for other people to keep their dogs at a distance. He's completely comfortable wearing his muzzle, so just think of it the way he does: as another piece of his on-the-go gear, along with his collar and leash. What better way to end than with his foster mom's own words when asked what she wants the world to know about this Very Good Boy: "He can come across as a lot at first, but he really is a sweet, calm, smart, funny dog! Love him to death :)" We and Clint are crossing our fingers (and paws) that the next step will be for him to head home with you.
