Adopt From Foster FAQs
What does it mean when a pet has the "Adopt From Foster" banner on their profile?
It means that the pet is lucky enough to spend their time in a foster home until they find a family to call their very own! They can be adopted right from their foster home versus having to be here at the shelter.
Where is this pet actually located?
They are in a loving foster home! All pets who have the "Adopt From Foster" banner will need an appointment in order to meet them. Sometimes, pets are met right in their foster home and other times, they are brought back to the shelter for a meet and greet - each situation may be a little different, but you and that pet's point person will work out those details!
How do I meet them/what is the adoption process?
The first step is to fill out the form that will pop up once you click the "Ask About Meeting Me button". From there, one of our staff members will reach out to you with more information about the pet and how to meet them.
Are you interested in helping a pet stay out of the shelter while they wait for an adopter?
We love to hear that! Become a foster volunteer at lollypop.org/foster. You will receive emails letting you know who is eligible for our "Adopt From Foster" program!
Gerard
Lollypop Farm
Gerard, better known as Jerry, is a pup who is staying in one of our amazing foster homes while he waits for adoption. From his past, we know that he was living with other dogs and spent most of his time outside. Right now Jerry's foster family is focusing on showing him all the comforts of a warm and loving home. He has a lot left to learn, but one thing he has figured out is that he loves attention. It seems like he may not have gotten much of it where he came from, and now he just wants to be loved. Jerry's ideal home would likely not have to crate him, even though he may not be 100% potty-trained. He would also benefit from access to a fenced-in yard, which he is enjoying very much in his foster home. He tends to do better with doing his business outside when he can roam free, rather than on leash. Do you have a calm and gentle home, ready to welcome in a loving new family member?
