Lollypop Farm Limiting Dog Admissions Due to Kennel Renovations
Fairport, N.Y., September 12, 2019 – Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, will be limiting dog intake during a critical stage of kennel renovations.
Lollypop Farm is enhancing the dog kennel area with additional sound proofing as well as improved air handling, new flooring and a fresh coat of paint. During this stage of construction, a number of kennels have to be closed which limits dog care capacity for roughly a four-week period.
“Our top priority is to always provide the highest quality of care for each pet who needs our help,” says Alice Calabrese, President and CEO for Lollypop Farm. “Many of the dogs surrendered come to us with health and behavioral issues that need to be treated before they can be adopted. This renovation project will ensure a less stressful environment by providing a quieter, improved space for their recovery.”
During this time, Lollypop Farm encourages pet owners looking to rehome dogs to utilize other resources first such as their free re-homing listing through Adopt-a-Pet.com. The partnership helps pets find new homes without having to come to the shelter, displaying available pets to over 3 million potential adopters a month. Pet owners can access the listing at: www.lollypop.org/rehomelisting.
Lollypop Farm encourages pet owners who are experiencing an emergency to contact the organization at 585-223-1330.
